Every house has a story. Here's ours.

From the team behind Society Social

When Roxy Owens launched Society Social in 2011, she didn't know she was also laying the groundwork for something else entirely. What followed was fifteen years of building a brand and a team of like-minded design enthusiasts, sourcing fabric, falling in love with design history, and quietly becoming students of the textile world. This July, that shared obsession becomes The Keeping House, a textile and wallpaper design house devoted to the art of the collected, and the brand they didn't know they were always building toward.

Each pattern begins with a ghost of the past...

1700's

HEIRLOOM OGEE IKAT

Inspired by 18th-century European silks and crafted using techniques like lampas and liseré, this ornate ogee lattice with stylized florals finds new life in our modern ikat interpretation.
1800's

COPERTA CHECK

Inspired by 19th-century Italian end papers, originally crafted to line the inside covers of finely bound books, Coperta Check balances structure with the charm of handcrafted artistry.
1930's

DECO VINE

Inspired by a 1930s printed textile, this viney floral channels the graceful geometry of the Art Deco era, where curling leaves create an elegant, romantic pattern reimagined with a playful energy for today.
1950's

BLOOMING CHINTZ

Inspired by a 1950s cotton chintz, this lively tumble of pansies revives the era’s buoyant optimism and bold color, reimagined with a refined touch that feels nostalgic, charming and refreshingly modern.

The name is deliberate.

“Keeping house” has historically carried the weight of obligation. Here, that phrase is reclaimed as a joyful rebellion, a curated act of personal storytelling and design. To keep house, in this context, is to edit, to collect, to choose, to surround yourself with things that carry meaning and reward a life of looking closely. The brand’s collection honors the beauty of what is gathered over time: motifs, memories, techniques, and traditions. Every yard is an heirloom in the making.

"Introducing our first sister brand. Like all sisters, Society Social and The Keeping House share the same DNA but have their own personalities entirely, their own points of view, their own obsessions. Cut from the same cloth. Patterns rooted in history. Reimagined with the wit and warmth that has always defined who we are."
